Interesting find

zorisaltandpepperI found these at an antique store near down town Columbus on Saturday.  They were just tossed in a drawer with various jelewery and what not.  The appear to be a salt cellar and pepper shaker in the shape of Okobo; shoes worn by apprentice Geisha.  I got very excited when I saw them and gladdly shelled out the $8 the dealer was asking for.  However I’ve been able to find very little detail about them as there are not markings on them what so ever.  A gal over at immortal Geisha forums found a very similar pair but they were marked sterling 950.  *shrugs*  I’d really like to know the value of these little gals and about how old they are.
